Judge Lucy Koh has repeatedly Apple and Samsung to promote negotiationsabout each other’s patents outside the courtroom. In court on August 15, she had asked CEOs of both sides meet a final time before the jury start. Koh did not want to take time of two CEOs, however, this judge can see the danger that both parts will suffer after the court finished, even if the jury was not made a declaration final judgment. Koh said if the main goal of Apple and Samsung is to “raise awareness” of competitors as well as by the public about their intellectual property, she said “mission accomplished”. Apple and Samsung have accepted this proposal of Koh.
Koh also mentioned that both sides should narrow the scope of cases to reduce mutual accusations, which could help the jury make the decision easier. Earlier this week, Koh agreed to remove three products of Samsung out of the lawsuit because these are not sold or distributed through any subsidiaries in the U.S. The trial continues still, invite you to the same track further update on this case.
