When Apple introduced the iPad 2012, in addition to high resolution screen, the 4G LTE connectivity is also one of the emphasize focus. However, the name “iPad Wifi +4G” now has been changed to “iPad Wifi + Cellular” in many retails and online stores in in the UK, Australia, the U.S., Canada, UAE, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, Ireland, and Hong Kong. Not every country (yet?).
According to 9to5Mac, the change has just only occurred. Meanwhile, the iPad 2 is still called “iPad 2 WiFi + 3G”. In most of countries in the world, the fastest mobile network that users can be achieved with iPad 2012 only in 3G HSPA, HSPA + or DC-HSDPA, not to be 4G LTE. This renamed is probably to avoid allegations fraud consumer as in Australia that occurred to Apple. Apple has long had the following explicit message:
This product supports very fast cellular networks. It is not compatible with current Australian 4G LTE networks and WiMAX networks. For service from a wireless carrier, sign up for a simple, month-by-month plan on your iPad and cancel anytime without penalty.
